Art on Steel's steel gifts start at R159 for a word-art piece, R199 for a garden stake and R239 per house number digit, with personalised options for anyone hard to buy for. Every piece is laser-cut, powder-coated for South African weather and locally made to order, backed by a 4.93/5 rating across 1,201 verified customer reviews. Because everything is made to order, the order-by dates below matter.
What is the last order date for Christmas?
To arrive by 18 December, order standard designs by 24 November and personalised or custom pieces by 27 October. These dates allow for production plus courier delivery (1–7 working days). Orders placed later may not arrive before Christmas.
| Type of gift | Production time | Order by |
|---|---|---|
| Standard designs, such as wall art, garden decor and word art | Within 2 weeks | 24 November |
| Personalised and custom pieces, including house numbers with your address and custom Tree of Life pieces | Up to 6 weeks, depending on how quickly you approve the drawing | 27 October |
Personalised and custom orders cannot be cancelled or refunded once placed, so check the house number, street name or family name before you order.
What is a good housewarming gift?
A steel house number is the housewarming gift a new home always needs, and it lasts for years outdoors. Each panel design is personalised with the new address, so it counts as a custom order and needs the earlier order-by date. For a simpler option, individual digits are sold per digit: a 3-digit address in Modern Small mild steel costs 3 x R239 = R717. To be safe, order digits by 27 October as well.
